Christ the King (CTK) is a group of three highly successful Catholic sixth forms in Kent and South East London. Offering exceptional, expert teaching and creating an environment where high achievement is promoted and attained. We welcome students of every faith and none at all.
While we put great stress on qualifications and academic success, we’re about far more than that. We want our students to leave us as rounded and confident adults equipped with the skills and attitudes they need to make a success of their lives, and make a positive contribution to society.
CTK offers a broad range of A Level, BTEC and T Level qualifications. T Levels are a new, two-year technical qualification, designed with employers with an end career or job in mind. Each T Level is equivalent to three A levels and helps young people develop the knowledge, attitude and practical skills to thrive in the workplace.
Linking Business with Education
Businesses tell us they want to do more, but struggle with where to start. We also often hear from employers about their frustrations surrounding skills shortages in their sector. By forging links with your local college you can help to develop the evolving employment landscape. It’s about starting a conversation about required skills so colleges can plan their curriculum to meet some of these skills shortages.
Any interaction with the real world of work is valuable to students for example giving a talk in college or hosting an educational visit to your premises. Providing a work placement for a student is a great way of benefitting both the young people in your community and your business.
Commitment to industry placement can elevate a business’s profile at both local and national levels and CTK is fully equipped to support and assist you in embarking on the journey of developing the next generation of talent within your company.
How providing a work placement can benefit your business
There are a range of benefits offered to businesses through work placements. They give early sight of the new talent coming into your industry, whilst giving a clear recruitment pipeline and helping to find the right candidates for junior positions or Apprenticeships. By engaging in work placements, businesses are actively shaping the future workforce, cultivating the specific skills required for industry triumph.
Current employees will also get to develop their leadership and management skills, through mentoring and coaching young people as part of the placements. This mutually beneficial arrangement cultivates a sense of shared value while empowering both the workforce and the community.
Help us to develop and create the next generation of workers – get involved now!
