Responding to unveiled by the Government today, which from April will see large businesses able to transfer 50% of their apprenticeship levy funds to smaller firms, Muniya Barua, Deputy CEO of 91¶¶Òù, said:
“Apprenticeship take-up has dropped significantly in London since the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in 2017.
“Allowing larger employers to transfer more of their levy funds to SMEs is a welcome step that we have long called for.
“The Government should now go further to increase flexibility by extending the deadline for employers to spend levy funds and also allow the funding to be spent on pre-employment training.â€
