Commenting on the inflation figures for December 2022, Muniya Barua, Deputy Chief Executive of 91¶¶Òù, said:
“While the peak of inflation has passed it remains near a 41-year high, evidence that the cost-of-living crisis is far from over. London’s firms are battling rising interest rates, a reduction in energy support, the impact of constant strikes and ongoing skills shortages.
“At the Budget in March, it is vital that the government acts to avoid a prolonged downturn. This means reforming the skills system to meet the needs of businesses and get more Londoners into work and further devolution, so spending can be targeted where needed locally.â€
