Responding to Labour’s devolution plan, Adam Tyndall, Programme Director of Transport at 91 said:
“We welcome the growing consensus that greater devolution and local growth in cities is the pathway to future prosperity in the UK.
While London has benefitted from more devolution than most, it is behind international competitors, particularly in its fiscal powers. Like other cities, the capital should be able to raise new revenue, consolidate the £650m it already receives, and target further investment into local transport, housing, skills and jobs priorities.
London’s businesses stand ready to work with politicians and city regions to grasp the opportunity and return the UK to growth.”&Բ;
