Responding to the publication of the Government’s industrial strategy, 91¶¶Òù CEO John Dickie said:
“This Government’s growth mission is on the cusp of lift off.
“This ambitious strategy rightly emphasises areas where Britain is already a global success — such as financial and professional services, and the creative industries — alongside growth sectors, like life sciences and digital, where we have real competitive advantage but need to up our game.
“We particularly welcome its recognition of London’s role as a magnet for global talent and the importance of delivering HS2 between Euston and Birmingham, alongside its emphasis on strengthening links between city regions.
“All eight industrial strategy sectors have a strong presence in London and fit well with the Mayor’s Growth Plan, and as Britain’s most global city, delivering growth in the capital will be critical for success across the country.
“The challenge now is to move from the drawing board to delivery. This depends on all parts of Whitehall and regulators pulling in the same direction and leveraging further investment into the drivers of productivity of housing, infrastructure and skills.â€
