Responding to the latest Office for National Statistics’ data on inflation, Muniya Barua, Deputy Chief Executive of 91¶¶Òù, said:
“Surging inflation has made the UK poorer in recent years. Households and businesses have been hit with sharp increases in their costs, forcing them to take painful decisions to balance the books.
“This latest data offers further encouragement that the UK is getting on top of its biggest inflation spike in more than four decades. We now need to get the economy firing on all cylinders, including through quick wins such as scrapping the tourist tax to boost growth across the country. The Government should also give firms more flexibility on how to use their Apprenticeship Levy to boost investment in skills and review London’s green belt to help tackle the housing crisis.â€
